Terms & Conditions
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read these Terms and Conditions in full before you hire a vehicle with Unirenty - these terms apply to any booking that you make with Unirenty either through our web site or via the call-centre. Both Supplier Terms and Conditions and our Terms and Conditions contain some exclusions and limitations of liability. It is vital to ensure you have read and understood the Supplier’s Terms and Conditions (or Location Specific Information).
REMEMBER, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS - IF IN DOUBT YOU SHOULD CONTACT Unirenty
Unirenty acts as a direct agent for vehicle rental companies worldwide. Registration number 12630546 (in the following “Unirenty”)
Unirenty “Lowest Price Guarantee”
In the unlikely event that you find a cheaper like for like rental price offered by any other independent UK car/van rental operator which sells car/van rental, before or after booking (prior to departure), Unirenty will best endeavour to match that price. Rental location (on or off airport) can affect the price, so the price promise will not apply where your Unirenty price including an on-airport pick-up is compared to a price with an off-airport pick-up. Unirenty may need to verify the availability and conditions applicable to the lower rate to ensure that an accurate comparison is being made. The Unirenty Lowest Price Guarantee does not apply to promotional offers, “sale” or prices not available to the general public (such as staff-discounted, regular-customer rates, “respond to offer” etc).
Info needed at pick up
Driving Licence
Drivers must produce a full driving licence held for at least one year (or in some cases an international driving licence).
As with all official documentation, it is the driver's responsibility to ensure that their license is valid in their destination, and that all supporting documentation is carried (such as counter-parts, endorsement records) and is available at time of collection of vehicle. If you are in any doubt regarding the validity of your licence within your destination you should contact your Foreign Office, embassy and/or seek expert advice before travel. In certain locations and for some vehicle types, drivers must have held a full licence for a minimum of 2 years.
We must be informed of any endorsements on the driver’s licence, as we may not be able to take your booking.
Faxed or photocopied licences are not acceptable.
No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a valid driving licence (and/or parts thereof) or nondisclosed endorsements.
Flight Information
For airport pick-ups, it is essential that Unirenty be given the correct flight number, departure airport and arrival time before departure.
If this information is not available at the time of booking, please ensure that you inform us of it at least 7 days prior to your departure. We can accept no responsibility for a failed rental due to the late/non-provision of this information.
Drivers’ Age
If you or any named drivers are under 25 or over 65 years old, please inform us at the time of booking. Age restrictions may apply in certain destinations, and may include in your rental prices (only first Young/Senior Driver) in some cases you will be charged locally.
Period of Rental
The duration of your rental starts and finishes according to the pick-up and drop-off dates and times detailed on your voucher, the price of which will be confirmed at time of booking and is calculated on the basis of 24-hour units.
Should you arrive later than the pick-up date and time detailed on your voucher, and where you have not provided advice to the vehicle supplier in advance of this (or have not provided flight details), the vehicle supplier may deem your booking to be a “no-show” and release the vehicle. Unirenty cannot accept any liability, and no refund will be entertained, in cases where you do not inform the supplier of delay. Please also see “Flight Information”.
If you wish to extend the rental period after collection of the vehicle, or if you return the vehicle later than stated on your voucher, you will be charged locally at the local daily rate, which may be higher than our rates. No refunds are payable on vehicle returned early.
Provision of Vehicles
Our local car/van rental partner can refuse to provide a vehicle to any customer who is, in their opinion, unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances your contract with us will terminate immediately, and we will have no further liability to you, and no refund will be due.
Number of Passengers / Load Capacity
Rental cars/vans are insured for a maximum number of passengers and load capacity. Unirenty cannot accept responsibility if the vehicle is not large enough to fit all passengers, luggage and goods on arrival if details were not supplied at the time of booking. Commercial vans capacities are only a guidance and for exact specifications please contact us once you booked your vehicle. In the interest of safety this number must not be exceeded and if exceeded the insurance will be invalidated.
Extra Services (Payable at Counter)
Optional and Requested Extras
Additional extras should be requested at the time of booking, and paid for in advance or at the counter at the time of pick-up.
Additional extras will be subject to any applicable sales taxes and location taxes.
Customers requiring extra equipment may have to leave a deposit at the hire counter.
“Out Of Hours” Charges
In most locations flights will be met and vehicles supplied outside of normal working hours. However, there may be an additional charge for this service payable locally or at the time of booking. This will be quoted when your flight timings are given to us. In the event that a flight is delayed, causing the vehicle pick-up to fall outside normal working hours, the additional charge will be made locally, where the out of hours service is available.
One-Way Rentals / Delivery and Collection
Delivery is normally to a local office, with a driver collecting you from your accommodation to pick up the vehicle. A charge for delivery and collection payable locally may apply and will be advised at time booking if applicable. Collection is normally at the airport or local office. In some locations deliveries are available during normal working hours. You should ask us if you would like your vehicle to be delivered, and full address and delivery time must be given at the time of booking. Delivery and collection must be booked in advance and do not qualify for the on-line internet discount.
Driving Restrictions
Restrictions are applicable when crossing country and state borders. Please consult our reservations department at the time of booking as to whether border crossing is permitted and what, if any, charges apply.
Tax
All taxes are included except those on any extras purchased locally. e.g. one-way drop-off fees, child seats and additional drivers. Unirenty reserves the right to levy any government increases in local taxes that may be introduced after the printing of these Terms and Conditions.
Any additional charges payable on arrival are subject to local taxes at the prevailing rate in that country.
Fuel
A deposit is often payable for fuel and is usually refunded if the vehicle is returned with a full tank. Fuel policies vary. Please check when you pick up your vehicle. The charge for fuel will depend on the size of the vehicle’s fuel tank and the vehicle hire company’s pricing policy. Due to refuelling logistics, the fuel may cost more than at a local petrol station.
Deposits, Excess and Cover
Deposits (Excess)
Deposit amounts will vary by destination.
All customers will be required to leave a deposit to cover the collision damage waiver (CDW) excess, theft waiver excess (where applicable) and fuel. To do so, a valid credit card in the name of the lead driver, must be produced upon collection of the vehicle, as a form of deposit (Cash and Debit Cards are NOT accepted).
Where a deposit for fuel is payable, it will usually be refunded if the vehicle is returned with a full tank. If the tank is not returned full, our local rental partner will charge for fuel at its prevailing rate. They may also levy a refuelling charge. Please check the fuel policy when you pick up your vehicle.
Customers having an Excess Reimbursement Insurance policy or our Unirenty Excess Refund Product will still need to leave a deposit as above, as this insurance is valid for the customer’s reclamation of excess payments.
Due to fluctuating foreign exchange rates and other possible banking charges, the vehicle hire company cannot be held responsible for any difference between the amount paid and the amount refunded.
Currency of Fees and Charges
Items which are “paid locally” will be charged at time of pick-up in the local currency of your pick-up location. Cancellation and Amendment Fees noted in this document are shown in GBP (£), EUR (€) and USD ($). If applicable, you will be charged these fees in the currency in which you paid Unirenty. If you paid us in a currency not shown in this document, the corresponding fee will be charged by using the GBP value and converted by the official exchange rate at that time.
Unirenty Rental Rates Do Not Include
Personal accident insurance (PAI), Additional non-mandatory insurances, Insurance exclusions (see the relevant insurance sections), garaging, tolls, congestion charges, parking and traffic fines, valeting fee (you will be required to pay a cleaning cost if the vehicle requires more than the usual standard cleaning on its return to restore it to its pre-rental condition, allowing for fair wear and tear), Out of hours charges, Optional extras, One-way rental charges (where applicable), Young/Old drivers charges (where applicable), Licence fees(where needed), Security deposits to be paid locally unless it is included in your rental rate.

Damage Protection
If you purchase the Unirenty.com Damage Protection waiver product before you pick the vehicle up, we will waive your liability (and refund you) for:
- charges for damage to the rental vehicle’s exterior or mechanical components, including:
bodywork, roof, undercarriage, windscreen, windows, mirrors, wheels, tyres, hubcaps, engine, clutch, battery, locks
Unirenty.com’s Damage Protection waiver product will not waive liability in respect of:
- ‘immobilisation’ charges (for loss of revenue while the vehicle is being repaired and cannot be rented out)
- roadside assistance charges resulting from a breakdown or accident
- charges directly related to locking yourself out of the rental vehicle or losing its key(s)
- the amount the vehicle hire company charges as a result of claiming on the vehicle’s Theft Protection policy)
- vehicle hire company administration fees related to any of these points.
- repairs not approved by the vehicle hire company
- cleaning charges or damage to the vehicle’s interior (unless caused by a collision
- damage to / loss of child seats, GPS devices or other ‘extra equipment’.
All drivers must abide by the terms of the rental agreement: our Damage Protection waiver product will not refund any cost incurred under circumstances which violate those terms, such as dangerous, careless or negligent driving, refuelling errors, or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
If you purchase our Damage Protection waiver product, the vehicle hire company will still block your credit card with a deposit when you pick your vehicle up, to cover potential damage to or loss of the rental vehicle – but our Damage Protection waiver product means that we have waived your liability to pay for the damage charges detailed here and we will refund the sum withheld from the deposit to cover these charges, subject to the terms described here.If you purchase any of the Unirenty.com products to protect your excess during your rental, you will be receiving the benefits of the product; therefore we are not able to issue a refund if you do not make a claim.
Cover Agreements
At the car/van hire counter, you may decide to buy additional cover to reduce or remove your excess,or to cover things your Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) doesn’t, such as tyres and windscreen.
Please note: if you do, the contract will be between you and the car/van hire company. Since Unirenty.com will not be involved at all, we won’t be able to help if you’re dissatisfied with the cost of the policy or the cover it provides.
Administration Charges
Damage to the vehicle will be charged for by the car/van hire company after it is dropped off - and will incur a Damage Administration fee on top of the amount deducted from the excess.
An Immobilisation Charge is payable in the event of an accident. This is in addition to the amount deducted from the excess and is compulsory. This charge is calculated against the vehicle group and the number of repair days.

How a contract is formed with Unirenty
The way in which a contract is formed, for the purchase of car/van rental, is the same whether you book over the phone or via our website. However you choose to book, it is important to understand how and when a contract is formed.
The technical steps required for a contract to be formed are as follows:
- When we quote prices over the telephone or place products on our website we are inviting you to make an offer for their purchase. You do not make this offer until you do so verbally or by pressing "Book Now".
- You have made Unirenty an offer to purchase the products once you have either pressed "Book Now" or done so verbally. Unirenty will then accept this offer when it has both received full/part payment and has sent you your confirmation voucher. Once done there is a binding contract between you and Unirenty for the product.
Prior to making your booking and if you are at all unsure of anything or have a question that you would like to ask,you can always use our help pages to find the answer, or you contact one of our Customer Services representatives via the website - we will be happy to assist you.
